Theaters may still be closed, but nothing stops movie lovers from streaming their favorite films.

And the weekend just got spiced up because all movies are star-studded, from Tom Hanks to Charlize Theron and a little Andy Samberg comedy. Oh, a horror movie that will surely keep you away from beaches this summer has been thrown in.

Here are movies you can stream this weekend:

Greyhound

This film is right up Tom Hanks’ alley as he portrays a Naval commander saddled with the responsibility of leading a convoy of Allied ships through highly treacherous waters. The waters are filled with offensive U-boats that were common in America’s early days in WWII.

Machine guns roar endlessly even as torpedoes whiz all over the place as stirring sea battles rage on while Hanks’ ship captain does his best to keep things under a tight rein amidst insecurity and danger.

Where to watch: Apple TV+

Palm Springs

This is a romantic comedy that takes time-loop movies to a whole new level. Wedding guest (Samberg) reluctantly meets Cristin Milioti, a maid of honor. And she somehow gets stuck in that particular day he’s already been reliving over and over again.

Milioti is the main attraction in this refreshingly sweet and gleefully dark film.

Where to Watch: Hulu.

The Old Guard

Charlize Theron shows up the only way an A-list star can show up: kicking ass and shooting bad guys. The twist here is that she’s the immortal leader of an immortal crew. A rookie is added to the team, and their secretive situation shoots up a notch.

Where to watch: Netflix.

First Cow

Kelly Reichardt’s slow-burn drama was starting to gain a foothold in theaters when the pandemic struck. The film is set in the 1820s’ Pacific Northwest in which Cookie (John Magaro), a wandering cook, teams up with King Lu (Orion Lee), a Chinese immigrant.

They became a hit with their remarkable ‘oily cakes’ made with a secret component: the milk from the esteemed cow of one of the wealthiest landowners in the land (Toby Jones).

Where to watch: Fandango Now, Apple TV, Vudu.

Mucho Mucho Amor

This is a documentary about a flashy astrologer with luxurious hair and fancy capes. It narrates Mercado’s life right from Puerto Rican farm boy to an icon of Latin culture for years, dating as far back as the ‘70s. In the end, he had to put up a legal battle for the rights to his name.

Where to watch: Netflix.

Archive

This is a futuristic sci-fi movie starring Theo James as a scientist doing his best to develop an extremely close-to-human artificial intelligence. However, he has a hidden goal, one that he has successfully kept hidden from his superiors: to reunite with his late wife.

This is a movie for those who love robotic prototypes, science stuff, and heroes. But no one will be disappointed, especially with the film’s intriguing ending.

Where to watch: Apple TV, Fandango Now, Vudu.

Relic

This atmospheric horror film sees Kay (Emily Mortimer) traveling with Sam (Bella Heathcote), her daughter to a dilapidated country house formerly owned by Edna (Robyn Nevin), Kay’s mother. That was when they learn that the older woman has gone missing.

However, Edna returns suddenly and starts behaving strangely and then violently, a warning that there is a hidden darkness in the house.

Sit back and watch this riveting tale directed by Natalie Erika James.
