The family drama just got real in popular American TV host, Wendy Williams’ family. This is no sweet family drama but a highly dreadful situation. The drama that has lingered between Wendy Williams and her estranged husband, Kevin Hunter has extended to other members of the family. The situation between the family keeps getting worse by day. The TV host’s son Kevin Hunter Jr. allegedly got into a physical altercation with his father.
Father and son got into a serious fight that got the cops involved. The fight that happened between the two men on Wednesday isn’t one to be categorized as being trivial, it was a fistfight that almost led to a court case. The19-year-old was later arrested at the scene for assaulting his father.
Wendy and Kevin Jr. lives in a new apartment in Manhattan after she filed a divorce and severed her ties with Kevin Sr. in April because he had a child with his mistress. They have cut off all business ties and he is no longer a part of The Wendy Williams Show. Sadly, the divorce also led to the dissolution of the charitable foundation they handled together.
The incident happened in a parking lot around the Hunter’s family home in Livingston. On this particular day, Wendy went to drop her son off so he could pick something at their family home in New Jersey, not knowing his father was in there. Getting into their home, Kevin Jr. waited for his mother who was supposed to come back quickly to get him. We can’t place why Kevin Sr. would be inside Wendy’s apartment since she had clearly warned him to clear out and stay off her since April. At the time when the infidelity case happened, Wendy gave him 48 hours to clear all his belongings from the house which he actually did.
After waiting for Wendy endlessly, Kevin Sr. and Kevin Jr. decided to get a few things at the grocery store together. Apparently, the conversation between the duo didn’t go down and this led to a fistfight. The conversation that led to the fight was centered about Kevin Sr. demanding child support from Wendy. He said Wendy was only trying to brainwash Kevin Jr. against him. Between the conversation, the two got into a hot argument that made Kevin Sr. put his son in a headlock which was exactly what prompted the punch from Kevin Jr.
A source confirmed that the bust out wasn’t all about Kevin Sr. demanding child support. Kevin Sr. has been trying to be a good father by dishing out advise to his son about how he should carve his own success path and not continue to depend on a handout from Wendy. The conversation came up again and it turned out to be unpalatable for the moment.
Kevin Jr. acted aggressively towards his father who tried to keep calm but it got out of hand. Kevin Sr. stated that his son and himself have always had a great relationship. He also mentioned that things are not always how they appear, so he won’t be taking it up legally.
Wendy Williams’ son was held in custody for a short time in West Orange, but he was released the same night.
