Vanessa Bryant had a perfectly reasonable question when she noticed that a Nike sneaker she helped create as a homage to her daughter and husband Kobe Bryant had been posted online without her knowledge.
Vanessa Bryant is unhappy because of the sneaker tribute she had designed for her late daughter’s memory, which has found its way online.
On this particular Wednesday, June 2, she visited social media to respond to a sneakers photo Vanessa herself helped Gianna Bryant design. Vanessa’s 13-year-old daughter died in a devastating plane crash on January 26, 2020. She was one of the seven persons deceased alongside her father- Kobe Bryant, in the incident.
Vanessa, who had worked on this footwear in memory of her daughter, Gianna, posted on Instagram, “This is a shoe I’ve worked a lot of time and effort on.” “It was to be called a “MAMACITA” shoe on daddy’s shoes as an exclusive black and white colorway. I chose the colors in remembrance of its uniform, number 2, the interior pattern, Kobe, and Gigi the interior shoe (butterfly, wings, halo,…) on the back in gold, instead of the Kobe signature, the interior sneaker details.”
“The shoes of MAMBACITA have NOT been allowed to be sold,” she proceeded. “I would like to sell them to honor my daughter with ALL the funds raised that profit from our Foundation @mambamambacitasports, but I didn’t re-sign Nike Contract to sell the shoes. (The shoes of MAMBACITA were not approved to be made in the first place.) Nike has Not sent any of these pairs to my girls and me.”
She was puzzled how this guy ended up with a couple of shoes, Vanessa added because they should not be obtainable in shops. The news publications contacted Nike and yet to receive a response from him.
“I don’t understand how someone else has got hands-on shoes I had built in Gigi’s tribute,” she added. “These sneakers have not been sold; I hope. @Nike.”
She also included a picture of the sneakers to her Story somebody had uploaded the sneakers being worn. Vanessa captioned it, “How/Why is someone wearing my daughter’s sneaker? This isn’t fair.”
Vanessa revealed on her Instagram Story on April 19 that Nike and the deceased NBA celeb had broken up earlier some months ago after she and the athlete’s estate decided not to extend the deal. News publications also received confirmation from Nike in the midst that the agreement had concluded.
Vanessa states partly back then: “I was expecting to build long-lasting partnerships with Nike that represent the memory of my spouse. “To commemorate Gigi and Kobe’s legacies, we will consistently do our utmost.
