Yeah, you read that right – The Savage X Fenty fashion showrunner may actually be pregnant.
The rumor mills were in full throttle following a seemingly
innocuous red carpet interview the “Diamonds” singer gave at her 2019 fifth
annual Diamond Ball.
The 31-year-old Bahamian singer sparked speculation of being
pregnant when she said:
“I’m a black woman. I come from a black woman, who came from a
black woman who came from a black woman, who came from a black woman, and I’m
going to give birth to a black woman.”
Hold it right there, that last line “…and I’m going to give
birth to a black woman.” Was she matter-of-fact, kind of telling her fans, “I’m
pregnant”?
To put things in context, here’s the complete statement:
I’m a black woman. I come from a black woman, who came from a
black woman, who came from a black woman, who came from a black woman, and I’m
going to give birth to a black woman. And so, it doesn’t even – it’s a
no-brainer.
That’s who I am, it’s a part of who I am, in spirit and in DNA.
And I always stand up for what I believe in, who I love, who I know, and who I
respect. My mothers raised me to be an incredible woman, and she’s a strong,
incredible example of what to be.
I fight through obstacles in life, and I’m sure her mom has also
taught her, and that’s how I am going to be. We are impeccable. We are special.
And the world is going to have to deal with that.”
Strong message, huh?
But we didn’t think that was a strong enough evidence to trigger
the baby Fenty coming rumor until this video showed up.
Bang! This that a baby bump?
A fan at the Diamond balls last night caught Rihanna on the video
singing at the event.
Once, this video with Rihanna holding her belle got out, hell
was let loose on Twitter with several handles reacting to the video which of
course led to the “Rihanna is pregnant” trend.
But Rihanna has always let anyone who cared to listen she wants
children. Back in June 2019, during an interview with Interview Magazine,
she told her “Ocean’s” co-star Sarah Paulson “I want children more than
anything in life” when she was asked, “Do you want to be a mother?”
A while back in May 2018, in an interview with Vogue, the “Love
on the Brain” singer opened up about her wish to become a mother: “Ok, so now
that I’m 30, are there things I’m supposed to do? Should I be worried? Should I
be freezing my eggs? What do you do at 30?!”
When prompted about the kind of mother she would be, Rihanna
said, “I’m not gonna be able to take my eyes off my kid. I know that already
about myself. They’re going to have to force me to hire a nanny.”
This latest rumor of pregnancy comes days after Rihanna shut
down the ICYMI with her Savage X Fenty Show.
