Their success is more than what it may seem. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has previously held the record of best box office opening for a video game movie with about $71 million. The Marvel film had accumulated about $249 million globally in its opening weekend.

And that’s not the only record. The film also surpassed Frozen II to become the highest-earning film over the weekend box office. Frozen II held the record at $358 million.

Pratt was originally trolled and ridiculed on social media. He doesn’t even have a single Italian hair on his body, and so, the verdict was released. Some said he wouldn’t make a great Mario.
