Taylor Swift Drops New Unreleased Song As She Sets Our For Eras Tour

Taylor Swift is the world-famous pop star known for her riveting style of romantic songs that just take hold of you in a way that is modern, poetic, and nostalgic at the same time. Her latest album, Midnights, which came out in 2022, was once again on top of many charts and, overall, her fifth to sell over a million copies in the very first week in the US.

It also became her first album to sell over a million physical copies in the last seven years. Now, Swift is all set to go on tour with multiple singers and performers opening for her. She will be touring in multiple locations in the US as well as Argentina for the brand new tour. The singer-songwriter just dropped four new songs right before the tour, and the hype has become unreal.

Tour and Music

Taylor Swift released previously recorded music. “In celebration of The Eras Tour I’m releasing 4 previously unreleased songs tonight at midnight,” the artist revealed in an Instagram post before revealing the songs.

The four tracks include two tracks from her The Hunger Games soundtrack, which includes Eyes Open and Safe & Sound, which feature artists Joy Williams and John Paul White. She also released If This Was a Movie (Taylor’s Version) and a new song titled All The Girls You’ve Loved Before

The tour begins on Friday, the 17th of March, in Glendale, Arizona. Interestingly enough, the city has been named Swift City in honor of the artist’s first performance during the Eras Tour. This is Swift’s first time going on tour since the COVID-19 pandemic. Obviously, she has come up with a brilliant lineup of supporting acts for the show.

The artists will include indie sensation Phoebe Bridgers, beabadoobee, Paramore, Muna, girl in red, Gayle, Haim, Gracie Adams, as well as Owenn.

Taylor’s Re-recordings

As some may have noticed, three of the four songs are part of the artist’s re-recording run. Swift fans must be more than familiar with the legal issues and conflict over intellectual property that Swift had to go through with previous collaborator Scooter Braun. As a result, Taylor took the brave and bold step to re-record all of her previous songs and release them all over again.

The move was appreciated by many, and still more look up to the artist for sticking up for herself up against production houses and selfish investors like Braun. The only new song, All The Girls You Loved Before, is speculated to be an unreleased item from the 2019 album of the artist titled Lover.

Interestingly, earlier this year, the song was leaked out on TikTok, which had fans reeling and begging to ask for an official release. Looks like Swift just heard her fans out and officially put the song out right before the Eras Tour.

The song was recorded after she joined Republic Records leaving behind Big Machine. This is the reason the popular title of Taylor’s Version is missing from this song. It has been a long time since fans received brand-new content that was recorded ages ago and had nothing to do with Braun.

Another one of the new songs, If We Were A Movie, is considered to be a part of a bigger project. Swift is rumored to be working on an unannounced version of her old album Speak Now. This will be a deluxe album that might see other new unreleased songs and many of Taylor’s versions as the re-recording of her intellectual property continues. Looks like Swift has left her hurtful past behind to make millions with every move she makes.
