Super Bowl Commercials Are Back With A Bang

Published

Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles are all set to clash against one another in the upcoming super bowl on the 12th of February. Over 100 million Americans are expected to tune in to the nationwide broadcast. Super Bowl commercials were a big thing pre-pandemic. During the outbreak, however, studios decided not to invest in such spots because there is little to gain from expensive commercials that won’t catch anyone’s eye.

But now, films and sports are all back to restore their former glory. And so, studios are back and willing to invest a stunning amount to have a spot during the Super Bowl.

Film Spots To Expect During Super Bowl

Major studios like Disney, DC, Paramount, and so on are all set to drop massive new trailers and spots during the Super Bowl. This includes the adventure fantasy film Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves starring Chris Pine. The trailer for the film was released by Paramount earlier last year. The film is adapted from the famed board game/video game that emerged in the ’90s.

Apart from that, DC Studios are all set to launch a spot for Ezra Miller’s The Flash. So far, only teasers of the film have been shown to the fans. The film’s lead, Miller, was surrounded by controversy after the actor was accused of assault and grooming of minors as well as suspected kidnapping. DC’s co-head Peter Safran assured fans that DC would consider continuing their links with Miller after the actor recovers and corrects their patterns. Co-head Gunn called the new film:

“Probably one of the greatest superhero movies ever made.”

Streaming services are also all set to find themselves more views and subscriptions. This includes Paramount’s network Paramount+. The network is putting out a commercial for their brand new show Tulsa King starring Hollywood veteran Sylvester Stallone. Here is the official synopsis of the film:

‘New York mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi, is released from prison after 25 years and exiled by his boss to set up shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma; realizing that his mob family may not have his best interests in mind, Dwight slowly builds a crew.’

Other films that will be featured during the Super Bowl are Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts. The movie’s director is Steven Caple Jr, who previously worked on Creed II starring Michael B. Jordan. The new film stars actors like Ron Pearlman, Peter Cullen, the famous voice of Optimus Prime as well as comedian Pete Davidson. The film’s release date is projected as 9th June this year.

Marvel and Netflix

While Disney has a lot of films and TV shows planned for the coming year, so far, they have given no statement regarding the sort of commercials we will see during the game. As of now, there is no certainty regarding Disney’s plans. However, their branch, Marvel, has opted to feature their upcoming superhero flick Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in the commercial break during the game. The film’s lead Paul Rudd will be seen partnering with Heineken in a very entertaining advert.

On the other hand, Netflix is all set to have a few of its shows featured in commercial breaks in a similar fashion. The streaming giant has collaborated with General Motors and Anheuser-Busch InBev. The commercial with GM will star Will Ferrel and promote various Netflix shows like Stranger Things, Bridgerton, and sci-fi heartthrob Stranger Things.

Doubtless, to say, this time’s Super Bowl is going to be star-studded and entertaining in more than one way. Grab your popcorn and remote, and make sure you don’t leave that couch for a while.
