Strangest Items Celebs Have Bought for their Home

At Celeb Network, we like to have fun every once in a while, and a particular favorite is looking at celeb spending. These people have millions upon millions, so it’s interesting to see what they buy with their money. Previously, we covered a few strange expenditures like Lady Gaga and her electromagnetic field readers, and here’s some more! 

Elton John – Flowers 

Back towards the end of the previous millennium, there were lots of reports regarding Elton John and his spending habits. Perhaps above all else, sources would talk about flowers. When John took on a former manager in a court case, the extent of the expenditure became clear. According to the former manager, he managed to spend around $450,000 in a florists in under two years – quite some hobby, right?

Paris Hilton – Dog House 

Over the years, we’ve come to know Paris Hilton as somewhat of a dog lover. If sources are to be believed, she spent over $320,000 building a mansion for her dogs. In an interview, she even stated that they live in a ‘two-story dog mansion’. 

In the same interview, she said the dogs had heating, air conditioning, a chandelier, designer furniture, and more. Lucky dogs! 

Spencer Pratt – Crystals 

While some celebrities buy items for their aesthetic value, others have a deeper meaning and this is true of Spencer Pratt and his healing crystals. After wife Heidi gave birth to their first child, Spencer had around $27,000 worth of healing crystals delivered to his LA home. It doesn’t end there; during the craziest time of this hobby, Spencer admitted to spending over $1 million on stones alone. 

Amanda Seyfried – Taxidermy Mini Horse

Us normal folk like to decorate our home with candles and the odd picture; meanwhile, Amanda Seyfried buys mini horses that have been taxidermied. When in the UK working on Red Riding Hood, she bought a mini horse that was just three weeks old when it sadly passed away. She has never admitted to the amount paid, but experts believe it’s between $2,500 and $15,000. 

Steven Spielberg – Rosebud Sled 

When it comes to cinema, there aren’t too many bigger names than Steven Spielberg. Not only does he contribute to the industry, he’s a huge fan too and this was proven when he spent $55,000 on the sled from Citizen Kane. Not only did he win the auction, he beat off George Lucas and a host of other huge names. 

Marilyn Manson – Skeleton 

If you want to look for strange items bought by celebs, look no further than Marilyn Manson. According to Madonna Wayne Gacy, the former keyboard player for Manson, he would continually spend the band’s money on ‘disturbing purchases’. Eventually, this strange hobby would culminate in Manson buying a REAL skeleton. He spent hundreds of thousands, turned it into a chandelier, and kept it in his home.
