Gavin MacLeod, a legendary actor, is dead. He died on Saturday morning, 29 May, according to Mark See his nephew. The famous star had passed away at the age of 90.

A 90-year-old Gavin MacLeod, best remembered for his character in The Love Boat and The Mary Tyler Moore Show movies, is dead. According to many publications, Gavin MacLeod nephew, Mark See, announced his departure on Saturday, 29 May, reported by many publications, including Variety and Deadline.

Mark said that Gavin died on the morning of Saturday at his house in Palm Desert, California. It’s unclear at this moment what caused the death of the legend. However, in recent months, various publications have highlighted that the 90-year-old actor has been visiting the hospital repeatedly.

In the movie of Mary Tyler Moore Show, Gavin grabbed people’s attention, portraying Murray Slaughter, head writer. He has participated until the end of 1977 in every one of the 168 episodes of the successful series.

In 1990, he was the captain of the T.V. movie, The Love Boat: A Valentine Voyage, and he was featured in the rebooted series’ 1998 conference episode, The Love Boat: The Next Wave.

Gavin was in Hollywood for decades and possessed more remarkable acting achievements. Gavin MacLeod was very popular in these movies: Hawaii Five-O, Perry Mason, Andy Griffith Show, OZ, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Charlie’s Angels, Murder She Wrote, J.A.G., That’s 1970’s show, Touched by an Angel, The Untouchables, It Takes a Thief, Hogan’s Heroes, Perry Mason, McHale’s Navy and many more.

After the legendary actor’s death, many famous people have used social media to share their emotions.

Ed Asner revealed on Twitter with Gavin at the Marry Tyler Moore Show, “I’m devastated in my heart. Gavin has been a good friend and a brother, my crime (my munch mate) companion, and my amusing collaborator. In a little of Gavin, I’ll see you. I’m going to watch it in a while, telling the group. Betty! Betty! Betty! You and I are now alone.”

“I have been with my mother, father, brother and sister watching LOVE BOAT a lot in 70’s and 80’s when I was a kid on a Saturday night,” Director Kevin Smith said. “It came surprisingly, and I’m heartbroken when I saw Gavin MacLeod cruising into the skies in Puerto Vallarta. Thank you, Captain Stubing, for the wonderful memories – here and on WJM-TV!”

Brady Bunch star Maureen McCormick commented, “Peace be with my good friend Gavin Macleod. Thank you very much for the excellent conversations on the wondrous life. I can always spend quality time as lucky as I have been with you. Love you.”

According to the report from the N.B.C., the wife of Gavin, Patti Kendig, and four children he had with his previous wife, Joan F. Rootvik, have survived. He and his former wife were married between 1955 and 1972.

Gavin got married to Patti in 1974, and they remarried in 1985 after divorcing in 1982.
