Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verseis all the hype for many reasons. It will be the fans’ first time seeing Spiderman 2099 in action. Oscar Isaac stars in the iconic role, and we’re about to see all the amazing versions of the web-slinger. This movie is going to go to epic proportions.
In the last one, we saw the many Spider-Men come together to fight off the threat that was Kingpin and the reality-breaking experiments he initiated that made the mess in the first place. Now, Miles Morales, played by Shameik Moore, will face off against other versions of the hero to find the best path. Here’s the official synopsis of the upcoming film:
After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. However, when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders. He must soon redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.
Casting Of Karan Soni
One of the newer additions to the film is Karan Soni. The actor became incredibly famous after starring in the Deadpoolfilms as Dopinder, the taxi driver who would take The Merc With A Mouth around town and have hilarious conversations with.
He’s previously worked in films like Always Be My Maybe, Unicorn Store, and Creep 2. Soni is now all set to continue his superhero film journey with the animated feature. Did you know that there is an Indian version of the friendly neighborhood hero? That’s right, Pavitr Prabhakar, or Spider-Man India, will be seen slinging webs in the upcoming movie.
As of now, it is not clear how much screen time the character will get from Marvel. It may take very little time for Spider-Man India to show up on the screen and disappear, and it’s also possible that the character gets all the attention it needs. Either way, Soni is the perfect choice to voice this character. He has previously lent his voice to projects like Strange World and Trolls World Tour.
Deadpool was merged into Marvel Studios when Disney acquired 20th Century Fox. In fact, all the X-men films came back home to the beloved studio. Everyone expected Marvel to turn Deadpool into some PG-13 disaster, but thanks to Kevin Feige’s words, that will not be the case. So we’ll be seeing more of the Merc With A Mouth, and since Dopinder has been a recurring character since the last two films, we’re likely to see him make a comeback as the friendly yet crazy taxi driver as well.
Marvel has teased big things for the next Deadpool movie, with Hugh Jackman’s beloved Wolverine making a grand comeback. We recently saw Ryan Reynolds and Jackman make the announcement in a few videos. It’s also possible to see a live-action crossover in the future. However, with animated films, this seems far-fetched.
First Film And Cast
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse was celebrated for its amazing animation style and star cast. Moore was the perfect choice to voice Morales, and New Girl fame Jake Johnson gave us an incredible Peter B. Parker. Now all the old actors will be reclaiming their respective roles. We will see Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy or the Ghost-Spider once again. Spider-Man Noir, voiced by actor Nicholas Cage, however, will not be returning in this sequel to the first film. Cage denied involvement with Across The Spider-Verse, and his character has so far not been spotted in the trailers.
