Just yesterday, the sad news broke that Shelley Morrison, star of Will & Grace, had passed away at 83 years of age. At Celeb Network, we like to celebrate the work of celebrities through their movies, songs, fashion lines, TV shows, and other work. Today, we want to pay our respects to some of the names tragically lost this year.

Laurel Griggs (13)

After an asthma attack, the young star of Broadway sadly died last month after being rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital. Despite her young age, she had experience on the stage after appearing opposite Scarlett Johansson in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof back in 2013.

John Witherspoon (77)

Dying in October, Witherspoon was an absolute legend of the entertainment industry. Leaving behind a wife of 31 years and two sons, Witherspoon starred in Boomerang, The Five Heartbeats, Hollywood Shuffle, and as Willie Jones in the Friday series.

Bob Kingsley (80)

Hit with bladder cancer, Kingsley was receiving treatment when he died in October. Passing away just one week after he released the news of the diagnosis, Bob Kingsley’s Country Top 40 will remain in the hearts and minds of many for a long time to come.

Patrick Day (27)

Shortly after his USBA super welterweight title fight, Day sadly died of his injuries after a hit behind the ear. Though taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and receiving emergency surgery, he soon fell into a coma and the boxer died four days later.

Brian Turk (49)

Back in September, the actor known for Beverley Hills, 90210 experienced cancer-related complications and his health soon deteriorated. He also appeared in Boy Meets World and Carnivale.

Luke Perry (52)

Sticking with 90210, March saw the passing of Luke Perry, who also appeared on the hit show Riverdale. Sadly, it was a stroke that affected Perry and the damage was too severe for sedation to help.

Karl Lagerfeld (85)

A legend in the fashion industry, Lagerfeld was born in Germany but made an impact all over the world. With the signature black sunglasses and bright white hair, he made a name as Chanel’s creative director and remained an influence for the rest of his life.

Kristoff St John (52)

Known for his prolonged role in The Young & the Restless, Kristoff St John died back in February. Although a cause of death has not yet been released, we know he was at his San Fernando Valley home when he was found.

James Ingram (65)

Active from 1973 right the way to his death in January, James Ingram was a successful R&B singer. Around two weeks before his birthday, he died of brain cancer but leaves a portfolio of brilliant music behind (and two Grammy Award wins).

Of course, we can’t list every single celebrity death from 2019, but our thoughts go out to all the family and friends of lost stars, nonetheless. Let’s celebrate their great work this holiday season and keep them in our hearts!
