Selena Gomez Takes A Break From Social Media

There are only a very few people who wouldn’t happen to even know the name of Selena Gomez in this day and age. Gomez has been a pop celebrity for years now. The singer-songwriter first took off when she started working in the children’s show called Barney and Friends, which aired between 2002 and 2004. Later, she became famous because of her on Disney channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place. The singer-songwriter has had a massive career with multiple certified golds like A Year Without Rain and When The Sun Goes Down. Since then, Gomez has appeared in many films, shows, and dropped many songs that made their mark in music history.

Gomez Takes A Break

Gomez just became the most followed female celebrity on Instagram as the artist hit a total of 381 million followers. The news sounds like it could totally make Gomez the happiest woman on Earth, and for some time, it appears she was pleased with it as well. However, later on, fans were left a bit puzzled by her reaction. Gomez decided to take a break from social media for a while. She broke the news to her fans in a viral TikTok video. Here’s what Selena had to say:

“I’m going to be taking a second from social media, because this is a little silly. I’m 30 and am too old for this. But I love you so much and I’ll see you guys sooner than later,” she said. “I’m just gonna take a break from everything.”

Some fans speculate that the move is because of Hailey Bieber’s video, where the model, now married to Justin Bieber, brought out some heat on Gomez. In the lip sync video, Bieber, along with her friends, including Kendall Jenner, mouthed this message:

“I’m not saying she deserved it, but I’m saying God’s timing is always right.” 

Gomez didn’t have an extreme reaction to the video. Many believe Bieber is taking jabs at Gomez because of her history with her husband, Justin. For now, Selena takes a break to find peace away from the toxic pages of Instagram and TikTok.
