In recent weeks, Justin Bieber has been in all the headlines after his marriage to Hailey Baldwin. Although this is great news for all Justin fans, those on the Selena Gomez side will be feeling sad that she hasn’t been able to find someone special after her very public relationship with the Love Yourself singer.
Recently, Gomez has
been speaking out about past relationships and it’s allowed us to learn more
about a relationship that, despite being very public, has generated lots of
interest as to why things didn’t work. Of course, there has also been lots of
speculation regarding Gomez’s two new singles and whether they were written
about Bieber.
Speaking on the Zach Sang Show on SiriusXM, Gomez stated that she has
been ‘super single’ for a couple of years. However, the rumors were
indeed true that she and Bieber did reunite for a short time in 2017. By March
2018, they were finished for good and she has gone on to watch him marry for
the first time. Regardless, she said that she wants her future love ‘to be
real and I don’t want it to be co-dependent or messy or lack communication.’

Interestingly,
Gomez has opened up about the fact that Bieber was her first love and that
these can sometimes be ‘a little toxic’. She said;
‘You have this co-dependency that you think is love and then you have this addiction to the passion and the frustration with each other and you think, ‘oh, that’s love’…and I believed that for a long time.’
If you haven’t yet
seen the Selena Gomez interview, it’s an important one and
could just influence those who follow the singer and her every move. At first,
she said being single was horrible and that she just wanted to ‘be adored’.
She wanted someone to cuddle and share her life with someone special. Now, ‘it
feels awesome’ even though she’s ready to settle down and find somebody on
‘the same wavelength’.

Music from Selena
As well as enjoying
being single, Selena also seems to be enjoying her music right now and fans are
loving it too. With Look at Her Now and Lose You to Love Me both
now available, she has broken the mold and shown that success doesn’t require
all sorts of expensive equipment and hundreds of crew members. Instead, the two
videos were filmed with an
iPhone,
something that Coldplay has experimented with recently too.
Of course, this
leads us nicely to Gomez’s first album since Revival back in 2015. She revealed
that the album will be her having a great time and focusing on topics like
strength and vulnerability. Through her music, she also said that she wants to
inform everybody that, actually, she’s in a great place. She’s in the process
of wrapping up the past and moving forward into the future. Well done, Selena.
