The Jenna Ortega version of Scream is all set to make sure nobody goes to sleep in peace. The horror series has a long reputable history of scaring the living crap out of people with masked murders and creepy phone calls. This time, the new movie stars Wednesday fame Jenna Ortega who has previously worked in films like Insidious: Chapter 2 and Songbird. Jenna has also appeared in the earlier version of Scream that was released last year. Will the new movie have the iconic villain Ghostface reappear to bring the menace with him, or will it be someone else ruining everyone’s lives? Here’s what the official plot summary of the film says:

Four survivors of the Ghostface murders leave Woodsboro behind for a fresh start in New York City. However, they soon find themselves in a fight for their lives when a new killer embarks on a bloody rampage.

About Scream 6

A teaser was shown for a Superbowl spot for the brand new movie in the recently revived movie franchise. In the teaser, we can clearly see Ghostface re-terrorize everyone with his signature robe, mask, and knife.

As mentioned earlier, the movie is a follow-up to last year’s Scream, which was brought back from the dead by a team of filmmakers called Radio Silence. However, everything was linked as the old films paid homage to the presence of original actors such as Courtney Cos, Neve Campbell, and David Arquette. In the new version, however, new characters take the lead. Some of the actors are Mellisa Barrera, who has previously starred in Keep Breathing and Carmen, among other films. She stars in the movies as Sam Carpenter, who sets off on the hunt to find Ghostface in the previous film.

Other actors include Hayden Panettiere who has previously starred in Scream 4 and Until Dawn, among other things. Everyone’s beloved Jenna Ortega plays Tara Carpenter in slasher films. The film last year has so far accumulated $140 million in total making it a very successful attempt at re-introducing the Scream series to newer audience members of the genre.

The plot sees all the main characters leave the haunted and damned Woodsbro for good to move to New York City. However, the horrors of Ghostface are far from being left behind. They are now haunted by yet another killer who is an even deadlier Ghostface than any they had witnessed below.

Interestingly, Paramount Pictures has announced that the brand new iteration of Scream will be the first of its kind to be released in 3D. The screams are going to be louder than ever before. All fans have to do is buy tickets as soon as possible to experience the screening at the special fan event where the film will be shown. This is limited to theatres that participate in the event and will also include special content from the filmmakers. A limited-time offer that just cannot be missed.

“In this iteration, the Scream universe moves beyond Woodsboro and into New York City, and the Big Apple called for even bigger scares, surprises, and frightening turns. We can’t wait for fans to see what Ghostface has in store for them this time.” Said the President of Domestic Distribution at Paramount Pictures. “Scream fans are among the most loyal and passionate out there, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring them this latest terrifying chapter like never before, in a visceral 3D format.”

This time around, the film is going to break all traditional horror rules to go above and beyond just common frights. If you’re a horror fan, do not miss the fan event.
