As we all know, the world of fashion is a fast-paced one. While some names rise from seemingly nowhere and take the world by storm, others fade into the darkness never to be seen again. With this in mind, who can we expect to make an impact in the coming years?
Kerby Jean-Raymond
Firstly, the Pyer Moss brand dates way back to 2013, but it was last year when Jean-Raymond really made a name for himself. In September, the fashion line celebrating black culture demanded attention by all and this brought the brand into prominence. As a result of this work, Jean-Raymond won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award.
If 2018 is anything to go by, we can’t wait to see what else comes from Pyer Moss in the near future.
Kelsey Randall
As we continue through summer and the many festivals the season brings, we need outfits to match…and Kelsey Randall is the perfect fashion designer for this. With more fantastic designs on the way, every single piece from Kelsey is hand-crafted and we think this is something consumers will love in 2019, 2020, and beyond.
Anton Yakshyn and Dima Chayun
When it comes to fashion, it’s a universal language and nobody has proven this better than this pair. As a Ukrainian brand, Chakshyn has wowed industry experts and fashion fans alike with everything from unique suits to stylish trench coats.
One thing we love about this brand and the two designers behind it is the blend of modernity and art when approaching the subject of masculinity and femininity. Considering this is such a hot topic right now, we think they’ve mastered it beautifully.
Bessie Afnaim and Oliver Corral
Is there anything better than a pair of married fashion designers making waves in the industry? Excelling in both women’s and men’s clothing, their Arjé brand falls into the luxury market and the fact that they release three collections each year will help to keep them in the spotlight for some time to come.
Peter Do
At the Fashion Institute of Technology, Peter Do was awarded the LVMH Prize for Graduates and went on to work at Celine under the watchful eye of Phoebe Philo. Although a no-frills designer, the simple and clean items from Do are catching the attention of many. With a focus on shirting, Do has openly said that the very best items come from a dialogue with opposing views.
Daniel Li and Angela Wang
Finally, we can’t forget those making handbags…and this is what we have with Ratio et Motus (‘reason and emotion’ in Latin). This is a young brand and one that seems to focus on balance between both reason and emotion. With high-quality leathers and vintage designs, we’ve already seen Ratio et Motus bags in action with Peter Do and Commission clothes on the runway.
If these names keep up the hard work, it won’t be long before they’re leading the industry; we may even see some celebrities aligning themselves with the talented individuals!
