Nicholas Cage Stars In Brand New Movie ‘Arcadian’

Nicholas Cage is one of those actors who has developed a unique style that only works for them. Cage is very well known for picking unhinged plots and characters to play in every film he ever does. He is also a very well-known fan of comic-book movies.

In 2007, Cage played Ghost Rider for the very first time, and the actor had to have his Ghost Rider tattoo removed through CGI so he could play the part. Now, after a long drought of Nick Cage movies, the actor is back for more projects every year.

Arcadia

The film that was formerly titled Sand and Stones features Cage with Jaeden Martell and Maxwell Jenkins. The three play a father-son trio out in a world full of dangers and surprises. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic world that threatens the very existence and lives of the little family of Paul (Nicholas Cage) and his twin sons. 

Cage is also playing the part of Dracula in the new film Renfield alongside fellow ex-Marvel actor Nicholas Hoult who played Beast in the X-Men films. The two are well-acquainted in spite of their Marvel films being from completely different universes and timelines. 

Cage also recently played himself alongside Pedro Pascal in the comedy film titled The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. The movie made about $29 million at the box office when it had a budget of about $30 million. While the film is better rated than many of previous ones starring the actor, its box office collection was still underwhelming. The film was able to at least recover its losses through streaming later on.

Arcadian has just finished filming in the heart of Ireland’s capital, Dublin, and now post-production work on the film is underway. The producers have released a sneak peek into the lives of the characters in Arcadian. Nicholas Cage is joined by It fame Jaeden Martell who plays the role of one of the twins, Joseph. 

The actor has received a lot of praise for his stunningly serious performances in the horror film and then in Rian Johnson’s dark comedy Knives Out. Maxell Jenkins is also in on the project. The 17-year-old plays twin brother Thomas. The actor has previously worked in a favorite sci-fi series, Lost In Space. He has also appeared in other TV shows such as Reacher and Dear Edward. Nicholas Cage’s Saturn Films is also one of the production houses working on Arcadian. This means you can expect the usual Nick Cage-style unhinged drama unfolding in at least some points of the post-apocalyptic film. So far, no official plot summary has been released, but it will once post-production ends. 

There are no release dates yet revealed for the film either, but with the filming all wrapped up, it can be expected to release sometime in 2024 or early 2025. Nicholas Cage has now appeared in over 100 films, and Arcadian is just going to expose young talent to his unique way of acting. Nick Cage fans are surely in for a very happening year.
