It’s fair to say that 2019 is the year of great movies; we’ve had Avengers: Endgame, Dark Phoenix, Toy Story 4, and we’re still looking forward to the final installment of Star Wars as well as the live-action version of The Lion King. Fortunately, the production companies are keeping us in the loop with both of these movies and we’ve just had our first sneak peek into Donald Glover and Beyoncé singing Can You Feel the Love Tonight?
Though the clip is just 45 seconds long, those who experienced The Lion King as a child in the 1990s will immediately be taken back to a simpler time. For months, speculation regarding the music in The Lion King has been rife. With this teaser release, it seems the pair will sing the classic duet…and sing it beautifully.
Excitement Fills the Air
For those who haven’t been keeping up to date with news regarding this live-action remake, Donald Glover (otherwise known by his stage name Childish Gambino) will be playing the lead role of Simba alongside Beyoncé who takes the role as Nala. Originally written by Sir Elton John and Tim Rice, the classic tune was always going to be in good hands with these two Grammy winners and this latest trailer is proof of this.
As well as a preview of the song, Disney fans also got a look at one of the most iconic scenes between father and son, Mufasa (voiced by James Earl Jones, the same role he took in the 1994 original) and Simba. As the pair look up into the night sky, they have a conversation that always gets the tears rolling for many fans.

If you want to get tickets to the early screenings for the July 19 release, Monday is the day you need to book because they will soon fill up. Interest for The Lion King has been steadily building since it was first announced in September 2016. Now, fans of the franchise can’t wait to get into the cinema after waiting for nearly three years.
All around the country, cinemas will be filled with people of all ages. While those who grew up with the Disney classic will be looking to take a trip down memory lane, those with children will hope the movie lives up to the same standards set by the original.
In the coming weeks, we’re sure new clips and reviews will bombard the internet. For now, we can bask in our own innocence and simply look forward to the remake of a movie that earned box office revenues of nearly $1 billion!
