@Midnight Late Night Show Set To Return To CBS

James Corden and his The Late Late Show are about to leave the screens of every late-night TV watcher for a good long while. Corden’s show was famous for car-pool karaoke and guests going absolutely wild in so many games with the host. It was a fun, light-hearted watch that could keep just about anyone entertained. Now, the famous late-night game show @Midnight, which originally started airing back in 2013, is looking to make a stellar comeback. This reboot idea has taken many by surprise for more than one reason.

Stephen Colbert’s Involvement

Another late-night TV show hosting legend Stephen Colbert from The Late Show is going to be an executive producer for the upcoming reboot of the new @Midnight show. The original famously aired a whopping total of 600 episodes in its four-year run from 2013 to 2017, when it officially declared its end in the August of that final year.

The original show would regularly see Hardwick host celebrity comedians asking them questions based on the internet. The show was a great laugh and would air every day from Monday to Thursday, which made it perfect for people who just wanted to come home to something nice to laugh at before falling asleep on the couch. Regardless of how the new iteration of the show goes on air, the show’s original host Chris Hardwick is reportedly not involved in any part of the process that goes along at CBS for the reboot.

The host, famous for some roles in the Lego movies, was very popular when the show originally aired. However, now the network may choose to go with another celebrity host to go with the 2020s vibe of the new show.

Colbert is having a hell of a time with multiple producing projects to his name with the same name. Paramount owns both Comedy Central as well as CBS. So Colbert is also equally involved with Tooning Out The News and Hell Of A Week With Charlamagne Tha God, where various famous celebrities and figures of fame come together as pairs to discuss and debate various topics. But it is really Stephen Colbert who’s having a hell of a year.

James Corden’s Exit

James Corden recently announced that he would be leaving his position as the host of The Late Late Show to pursue other projects that hold his interest. It was also reported that the wildly popular segment of Carpool Karaoke within the show will be getting its own spinoff series. However, no news has broken out on that front as of yet.

CBS isn’t the only network losing its late-night hosts. Other popular names to have exited the late-night hosting gig include comedian Trevor Noah, Desus and Mero, and Samantha Bee. However, the late-night show trend has survived the ages and changed many hosts for many shows. This just may be a period of temporary vacancies, which will be filled out with new concepts (or old rebooted ones) and new hosts.

James Corden announced his exit in April. The host, who previously starred in the musical Cats, has had many controversial and upsetting moments on the show, including the clash between himself and Bill Maher, who fat-shamed Corden on his own show, Real Time With Bill Maher. However, the host and actor have done well enough to cope and move forward.

This much is clear since he is looking to leave the show to follow other projects. Maybe we’ll get to see him in another show or perhaps a new comedy movie. Meanwhile, one can only be excited for @Midnight to make its grand comeback.
