Melissa Fumero Announces Pregnancy as Brooklyn Nine-Nine Future is Secured

It’s been a great week for fans of hit show Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and it’s just got even better after Melissa Fumero, who plays Amy Santiago, announced her pregnancy on Instagram. With a picture showing her slightly scared face, Fumero posted with the caption ‘Oh yeah, I’m hella pregnant.’ However, it hasn’t been easy for the 37-year-old.

While announcing the pregnancy, the actress noted that it has been ‘way harder’ compared to her first pregnancy. Yet, she noted that she now feels ready to share the news after receiving a chiropractic adjustment and massage. She joked ‘so I feel a little bit cute today’ and finished with the hashtags #babyboynumerodos and #herewegoagain.

Of course, Melissa is married to Power actor David Fumero and the pair had their first child just over three years ago. For those who follow either Melissa or David, you’ll know that Enzo plays a prominent role and it’s clear the family are extremely happy. Now set to become a foursome, we hope the Fumeros will continue to share their lives with us as Brooklyn Nine-Nine itself continues to thrive.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Returns for Season Eight

Not so long ago, fans revolted after it was announced that Brooklyn Nine-Nine had been dropped by Fox. As soon as news reached social media platforms, there was outrage not only in the US but in the UK and many other countries too. Fortunately, NBC were listening to what the people were saying and decided to take advantage of the wave. Soon after, work began on season six as it was picked back up.

From here, the show has gone from strength to strength. Not only is season seven premiering towards the beginning of February next year, it has been announced this week the team will be returning for an eighth season too. After the news was revealed, the social media accounts from the show posted images of the group all holding up eight fingers.

Over the years, one of the strengths of the show has been the committed cast. By the looks of it, this will continue which means the return of Santiago, Peralta, Diaz, Jeffords, Holt, and Boyle. Together, the six have appeared in all 132 episodes of the show. Meanwhile, Hitchcock and Scully have together appeared in 130.

Meanwhile, who can forget Gina Linetti, played by Chelsea Peretti, who has 117 episodes to her name? Earlier this year, she announced her departure from the show and this was the first major casualty that fans had to experience. Soon after, she revealed that it wasn’t entirely her decision to leave. This being said, there wasn’t any bad blood between either party and that the ‘timing…presented itself.’

Congratulations to Melissa and David Fumero on the news of their pregnancy. Congratulations to everybody involved with Brooklyn Nine-Nine who put smiles on millions of faces around the world. Are you looking forward to the seventh and eighth seasons?
