Kevin Hart posted a video on his Instagram page Tuesday night
laying bare the details of his recovery after a gruesome car
accident. He
sustained back injury in three places.
The car accident occurred September 1 in Calabasas.
California. According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, Harts was
at the passenger seat of his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda when the vehicle veered
off the road. His friend Jared Black and wife were with him in the car. Jared
was in the driver’s seat when the accident happened.
In the video which the 40-year-old actor and standup comedian
shared on his Instagram, he said:
“Basically, what you realize is that you’re not in control,” he said in the voice over. The clip begins with a scene of the crash, then quickly showed Kevin being lifted out of a hospital bed onto two crutches.
“No matter how much you think you’re in control, you’re not in control. At the end of the day, it can all be over, man.”
The footage also showed Kevin gradually regaining his
strength and his rehabilitation work at home.
“You know when God talks, you gotta listen. I swear, life is funny because some of the craziest things that happen to you end up being the things that you need most,” Kevin said.
“And in this case, I honestly feel like God basically told me
to sit down. You’re moving too fast, doing too much. You can’t see the things
you’re meant to see.”
The “Night School” star acknowledged the accident made him
seat down and reassess his life. He said the accident forced him to slow down.
“After my accident, I see things differently,” he further explained. “I see life from a whole new perspective. My appreciation for life is through the roof,” he voiced over a footage that includes a clip of him at home with his three children.
Kevin said he is thankful for his family and friends and fans
for their supports, prayers and wishes.
He said: “I’m thankful for my family, my friends the people
who simply ride with me and stay with me because they stood by me.
“My fans, thanks for all your love and support. So, don’t take today for granted because tomorrow isn’t promised.”
The 40-year-old father of three, said “I’m thankful for God
for life… looking forward to an amazing 2020.”
In another development as reported by the Mirror, Rebecca Broxterman and Jared Black
are now preparing a lawsuit against Kevin Hart over their injuries.
The pair claimed, he was negligent in not having the required
safety measures in place in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda. Rebecca and Jared
argue that the car did not have proper safety harnesses or airbags.
Unlike the features in cars nowadays, the 1970 Barracuda was
originally built without any of those safety features, but could have been
added if requested.
Interestingly, Kevin have said he wouldn’t pursue any legal
proceedings against the driver that caused the accident nor will he claim any
insurance compensation from the driver.
