Johnny Depp Settles For The Quiet Countryside Life In Somerset

Johnny Depp is a name that has immortalized the unique style of the actor. He is known for his shy nature, hilarious remarks and reactions, and down-to-earth demeanor. The actor became more and more famous as he took on unconventional roles, playing the role of Willy Wonka in Charlie and The Chocolate Factory in 2005 to the iconic pirate Captain Jack Sparrow in the famous franchise Pirates of The Caribbean.

The actor has played a bunch of great characters like Edward Scissorhands as well. However, recently, the actor has been troubled by the domestic woes of life. Amber Heard, his ex-wife, brought him to court in response to which Depp counter-sued Heard. Now that the trial is over, Depp has retired to a quieter life.

Johnny Depp won the trial against Amber Heard as Heard’s legal team failed to come up with enough evidence or form convincing arguments in the case. The defamation trial led to Heard having to pay him a total of $15 million, this amount was later toned down a little bit because of state laws, but regardless, in the court of public opinion, Heard was executed.

Because of this, now you may not hear much from Amber Heard, who has been away from the public eye for quite some time. However, Johnny has been out and about trying to feel better and live a better life. 

Depp, who was famously involved with Winona Ryder back in the 90s, was last seen dating his attorney from the UK Libel Lawsuit, Joelle Rich. However, according to sources, the two are no longer seeing each other, leading many fans to believe that it was likely a casual fling for the time being. Now, Depp was spotted away from the humming celebrity life in the countryside of Somerset in the southwest of England.

Does Depp Have Any New Projects Up His Sleeve?

Depp ended up losing about $22 million as a result of the defamation case. In fact, it happened right after Heard published an op-ed in the Washington Post. Disney removed Depp from his beloved role of Captain Jack Sparrow. After Depp won the case, he mentioned how he felt “betrayed” by Disney and that he wouldn’t work for them even if they gave him “$300 million and a million alpacas.”

So, what’s next for the actor? He has mentioned how he wants to regain his reputation. His next known project is with Netflix. It will be a French biopic of king Louis XV where Depp would star as the king. It will be directed by Maïwenn, who will also star as Madame du Barry in the film. The title is La Favorite and also stars greats like Louis Garrel, Pierre Richard, and Noémie Lvovsky.

Life in Somerset

Depp has found his peace being himself in Somerset. He appeared in an article in the Gardens Special of the UK magazine Somerset Life. The actor talked about how he thoroughly enjoyed the open and quiet life as he considered himself quite shy. It is very well known that the talented musician and actor is somewhat of an introvert in his social life.

“I just love places with character…. British people are cool and will greet you as if you are a neighbor—without going over the top….” said Depp. “I like going to places, seeing things, and meeting people—but I’m not the great extrovert that people think.”

Clearly, he’s enjoying the beauty of life in the countryside. He likes enjoying his own company and is also known for being extraordinarily kind to many people without having to say a lot. Truly, one of the greats.
