JJ Watt ‘The Luckiest Man in the World’ After Proposal to Kealia Ohai

At Celeb Network, we love to see feel-good stories; in life, there are too many things to get us down so we’re focusing on a positive. The two Houston sports stars have found love and will solidify this love in marriage after JJ Watt proposed to his girlfriend, Kealia Ohai.

If you visit Houston, you’ll quickly see that this couple has been taken into the hearts of locals. Watt, of the Houston Texans football team, and Ohai, of the Houston Dash Women’s soccer team, are Houston’s very own royal couple and news of the engagement has been received well.

Watt shared the news with his 3.5 million followers on Instagram with a series of stunning pictures. As the sun sets in the background, one image shows Watt and Ohai walking hand in hand while looking into each other’s eyes and we couldn’t be bigger fans. #SheSaidYes was quickly trending on Instagram after Watt used it in his own post alongside the beautiful message; ‘I’m the luckiest man in the world’. With the wonderful wooden outcropping and the orange sky behind them, it looked like something from a movie.

Although news of the relationship only really became mainstream a year later, the two started dating in 2016. If you’re looking for someone to thank for the two finding each other, this man is Brian Cushing. As a former teammate of JJ Watt, Cushing is married to Megan, Kealia’s older sister. Soon enough, the two were introduced and quickly fell in love.

With both playing an important role in a hectic sports world, you might think the relationship itself is strained and difficult. Yet, they seem to have found a sweet spot in the crazy world around them. While Ohai has been the captain of the Dash team since 2014, Watt has been with the Texans for eight years.

In January 2017, the two made it official (in the online world, anyway!) and sports fans couldn’t have been more excited. For a while before, Watt had been linked with professional tennis player Caroline Wozniacki. After being spotted watching a Final Four basketball game, the dating rumors began to swirl. However, Watt denied these rumors outright and we were left with our imaginations once again.

Thankfully, he was introduced to Ohai and now it looks as though they’re set to live a long and happy life together. As you’ll see from the pictures, Watt spared no expense on the proposal and the effort only matched this. It wasn’t all man-made though, and the beautiful setting sun behind them only adds to the magic of it all.
