Jennifer Lawrence and Viola Davis connect over ‘almost killing their kids’: ‘My baby is in the car!’

Jennifer Lawrence narrated an incident when she moved around in the car without attaching the seatbelt to her son.

Jennifer Lawrence and Viola Davis sat down to talk about their individual performances in Causeway and The Woman King and bonded over how motherhood has transformed the way they look at their work. Viola Davis also opened up about a stressful incident when she was fearful about her child when Jennifer narrated the fears she has been encountering as a new mother.

The two Academy Award-winning actors sat down for the Actors on Actors interview with Variety when Jennifer chitchatted about the time she went back on set to shoot a significant chunk of Causeway after her wedding. Telling her anxieties about becoming a mother, the Silver Linings Playbook actor said, “Every day of being a mom, I feel horrendous. I feel remorseful. On a daily basis, I’m playing with him and I’m suddenly like, ‘Is this what he must do regularly? Is this developing his brain adequately?’ The actor gave birth to son Cy, whom she welcomed in February with art gallerist husband Cooke Maroney.

Viola joined in the conversation talking about an incident in which how she had once locked her child in the car when it was “uncomfortably hot” outside. “You may think I was in a Greek catastrophe,” said the Fences actor. “My baby! Jesus!” And then I saw these two very nice gentlemen walking past me. I squeezed their necks tightly and said, “My baby is in the car! My baby!” And then Imagine what I have in my hand. My phone. So the two nice gentlemen whose necks I’ve squeezed tightly, said, “Ma’am, you just need to make a call to 911.” And I said, “Oh, Yeah OK.” So I made a call to 911, and I started to yell at the operator.” she concluded. Jennifer Lawrence then reminisced a similar incident expressing how she had forgotten to buckle the seat belt on her son and moved around with him “teetering around, just flying.” “OK, That’s great!” she finished, saying, “That is Good to know that we all almost killed our kids.”
