Earlier rumors of a fourth Matrix Movie
For years, after the successes of the previous Matrix instalments, Warner Bros. has been trying to get back into “The Matrix” universe. However, legal wrangling over production rights kept the project in the colds.
In the time, there were rumors of a possible reboot, a remake possibly or even spinoffs from the original title. Unfortunately, nothing seemed to work out.
In 2017, a rumor broke out about a total reboot of the franchise with Creed star Michael B. Jordan as the lead actor of the new movie while Zak Penn, X2: X-Men United will handle the screenplay.
However, as we now know today, it was also a rumor. Though, there seem to be grains of truth in the involvement of Jordan in trying to resurrect the franchise.
