Evangeline Lilly is the star of Marvel’s newest film, Antman And The Wasp: Quantamania. The film is slated to drop on 17th February and is the latest in the franchise, which also kicks off Marvel’s phase 5. Lilly stars as The Wasp, a superhero who has the power to shrink to whatever size is necessary in order to save the day. Lilly has previously appeared in the earlier Antman films as well as Avengers: Endgame. It was later revealed that her character, Hope van Dyne, had been turned to dust along with Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne, her mother leaving Scott Lang stranded in the Quantum World.
Recently, Evangeline Lilly spoke with Access Hollywood and opened up about how she feels about Jeremy Renner’s recovery after the actor got into an accident with a snowplow.
Renner’s Accident
Jeremy is a helping spirit who is always engaged in trying to make lives better for the people around him. While the world was celebrating the New Year, Renner was trying to save someone he knew from the unforgiving snowstorm. He was attempting to help with a car that had gotten stuck because of the snow with his own snowplow, which is a massive vehicle. Somehow, things got worse, and the snowplow ended up running the actor over, completely crushing him. Thankfully Renner was able to survive, but his chest had suffered traumatic injuries from the accident, along with other orthopedic issues.
On January 2, it was declared that the actor famous for playing Hawkeye in the Marvel world was in critical condition and in an intensive care unit. After hours of surgery, the actor was able to recover, and the next day, he posted a selfie from his hospital bed, letting the world know that he was alive even though he wasn’t in the greatest of physical conditions.
Jeremy Renner has worked in a host of films, from Mission Impossibleto Arrival. His last project with Marvel was the Disney+ Hawkeye series which faced a rather warm reception from the audience as the fan-favorite superhero with a bow and an arrow returned to grace the screen with a new side-kick to teach and protect. Evangeline Lilly spoke about Renner’s recovery recently, saying:
“I was just at Jeremy’s house the other night and he was in a wheelchair,” she told Access Hollywood. “I walked into his house and … I was like why are you mobile? What is happening? I expected to sit at his bedside and hold his hand while he moaned and groaned in pain and wasn’t able to move. He was wheeling himself around, laughing with his friends.”
It’s evident that the actor has manifested the strength and focus of the famous characters he plays, including but not limited to Hawkeye. Jeremy Renner is currently in a wheelchair trying to help himself be back on his feet. It might be a long process, but at this rate, there’s no stopping the man from jumping right into action again. Post-accident, Renner was quickly airlifted away directly to the emergency room, where his extensive wounds were treated.
His recovery is also thanks to a neighbor who was a trained paramedic who quickly jumped into action to save Renner’s life after the accident.
Lilly and Renner have previously worked together on The Hurt Locker as well as Avengers: Endgame. The actress said that Renner’s recovery was “a straight-up miracle,” and she commended his strength in a statement:
“He’s made of something really tough, that guy and you’ve always been able to see that in him.”
