The novel coronavirus may have forced many states into quarantine, but that has not deterred a lot of people. The most electrifying man in sports entertainment, retired WWE wrestler and actor, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is one of them. And oh, he has his hands quite full every single day of the lockdown.
The ‘Ballers’ star says he is keeping busy in quarantine with his lovely wife, Lauren Hashian. He went on Instagram last Saturday to share – in an eight-minute video – how the quarantine enforced due to the scourge of COVID-19 has affected his marriage.
The 47-year-old actor who spoke directly to the camera responded to several questions that were sent in by his fans around the world about his relationship.
I Have Found A Positive Effect On My Marriage, Johnson says
“I have found that the quarantine has had a very positive effect on my relationship and my marriage,” the “Jumanji: The Next Level” star said. “Certainly my relationship with my daughters, who are two…but it’s also had a really positive effect on my relationship with my wife.”
Johnson also stated that he and his wife, Lauren Hashian at times, get snippy with each other and even argue when the situation calls for it. He did not refrain from calling himself wobbly once in a while, especially during the first few weeks of the enforced lockdown.
“There’s a lot of sh**t we are all thinking about. Husbands, wives, we’re all thinking about it, so it’s a lot of pressure,” Johnson continued. “I found myself consistently apologizing to Lauren about every other day, ‘Hey, I’m sorry, this is not my best week.’”
We Stay Aware As A Husband and Wife, Dwayne Says
‘The Rock’ said through all their arguments, and they do their best to remain aware that they are husband and wife, stating that there is a lot of pressure in their current situation.
“We try to go easy on each other, we try to make things light, not too judge-y, and she’s the best,” he stated. The renowned actor went ahead to recount a recent brannigan between himself and Lauren, which quickly resulted in the pair joking around and having fun once again.
“We laughed so f*** hard…and immediately it just broke that tension, that silly tension,” the father of two, said. “We got right back into ‘Oh my God, what are we even arguing about?’ It was nothing, it was so stupid.”
“We Also Go Through the Dumb Sh**t, too,” says ‘The Rock’
Johnson stated that he and Lauren are “going through the dumb sh**, too,” but try their best to avoid getting into arguments that are too “heavy to sludgy.” He even encouraged his fans to take this quarantine period to improve their communication with their spouses or partners.
“We went through that yesterday, and then last night, we poured ourselves a couple of glasses of tequila, we had a nice little toast to gratitude,” Johnson said. “And then we started practicing making babies again…showed her why they call me ‘The Rock.’”
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will soon grace our screens again – hopefully, this summer – in the movie “Jungle Cruise” with Emily Blunt.
