Dexter and Billions Spinoffs In The Works

Paramount Global executive Chris McCarthy is strengthening his plans to make more shows out of Billions as well as Dexter. Both the shows are going to get spin-off shows from the Showtime heads. The network is all set to expand its already existing universes into something that’s bigger and bolder. Dexter is a show about a man with murderous tendencies while also living his life as a forensic technician. And Billions is a show that focuses on court drama and the corporate world of Bobby Axelrod and attorney Chuck Rhoades. Now, we’re all set to see more out of these two storylines in a vibrant way.

Billions

Billions are about to get spin-off shows called Trillions and Millions, coming from executive producers Brian Koppelman and David Levien. The Billions series is also considered Showtime’s longest-running original scripted series. That is one impressive achievement. The show is laced with tight dialogues and impressive acting from actors like Damian Lewis, Paul Giamatti, and Maggi Sif. Here’s the official plot of the hit tv series:

‘Chuck Rhoades, a sincere but ruthless US attorney, engages in an egoistic battle with hedge fund kingpin Bobby ‘Axe’ Axelrod as they try to outdo each other in the competitive financial market.’

Dexter

Dexter, on the other hand, has more substantially formed plans when it comes to the spinoff. The show’s executives are planning a prequel to the original 2006 show. The prequel series will be called Dexter: Origins and will show us the initial days of the serial killer and how he grew into the bloodthirsty fiend he is in the original series. There are also plans to develop another version of the famous sequel Dexter: New Blood which will continue the story with Dexter’s own son Harrison. Doubtlessly, amazing plans are in the works for Showtime.

The cable network is likely to see accelerated growth with these plans being announced. However, things were not the same after they aired the original Dexter’s finale episode, which left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth. With this new line of shows, maybe Showtime has a shot at coming back to the former glory that it used to be familiar with. The only saving grace Showtime came up with was the sequel, where we see Harrison struggling with the demons he inherited from his father. The drama is ripe, and Showtime is all set to make things bigger and bolder.
