Let’s face it, we’re all looking forward to the final season of Will & Grace. Originally airing from 1998 to 2006, the show made a comeback in 2017 and has enjoyed some success since. Although TV critics weren’t sure how well new audiences would respond to the classic, there has been two seasons so far and there will be a third and final season in 2020…and it looks as though Demi Lovato will play an important role in the series.

Demi’s Acting Comeback

Today, it was announced that Demi would have a role in the show, even if we weren’t told exactly where she would fit into the picture. Of course, this means that speculation is increasing as the hours go on. So far, we know that she will play a character called Jenny and that she will enter Will’s life unexpectedly. What does this mean? Well, this is where the speculation begins.

With it confirmed that the character will ‘have her guard up’, some have guessed that Jenny will be a potential surrogate. Elsewhere, others are suggesting that Jenny will be a long-lost daughter of Will’s. Unless the writers let us in on a few secrets in the coming months, we may have to wait until 2020. During the final season, it’s believed that Demi will appear in three episodes which confirms that it’s more than just a short cameo.

After a turbulent time recently, fans will be pleased to hear that Demi is returning to her acting roots. She is mostly known for singing these days, but it all began at a tender age when working with the Disney Channel. With roles in Camp RockGlee, and Barney & Friends, she got a first leading spot on Sonny with a Chance

In the near future, Demi will also appear alongside Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams in a Netflix movie called Eurovision

Final Season for Will & Grace

Don’t worry, the main four are also returning to the series; Sean Hayes, Eric McCormack, Megan Mullally, and Debra Messing. In total, there will be 18 episodes for fans to sink their teeth into and the whole season is in production currently. So far, no premiere date has been revealed but NBC has openly said that this will be the final season of the show.

During the peak of its popularity, Will & Gracewas averaging between 15 and 20 million viewers per week. Over time, this eventually began to fall to between 7 and 10 million for the final couple of seasons; however, 18 million tuned in for what was the then final episode back in 2006.

Upon its return, it picked up over 10 million viewers in the premiere of season nine in 2017. For season ten, averages reached around three million but in a very different market to what the show had a decade and a half ago. We’re sure viewers of the show can’t wait for not only what happens but the appearance of Demi Lovato too!
