Courteney Cox and David Beckham to Appear in Final Modern Family Season

For those waking up this morning to see Courteney Cox and David Beckham in a bath together, we aren’t in a parallel universe. No, it appears the two will be making appearances in the final season of Modern Family. On Friday, the ex-Friends star drove fans wild with a video compilation of the two in a bath. Posted to Instagram, the caption reads ‘Too hot in the hot tub #modernfamily’.

Of course, Courteney Cox is known for her roles in Friends, Cougar Town, Dirt, and others. Meanwhile, Beckham had a very successful soccer career before moving into the world of fashion, soccer ownership, and even acting. That’s right, this won’t be Beckham’s first foray into performing.

Way back in 2005, while still playing, Beckham appeared in the soccer-themed Goal! The Dream Begins. In 2007 and 2014, he appeared in TV shorts for Comic Relief in the UK. However, his acting took a more serious turn in 2015 when he showed up for a short role in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Two years later, he got a mixed reception when playing Trigger in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword alongside Charlie Hunnam and Jude Law.

With some critics fairly outspoken in their criticism of Beckham’s acting in this later role, fans of the show (and fans of the man himself) will be interested to see whether his acting talents have improved in recent years.

Final Season for Modern Family

As well as gathering excitement in the Modern Family community, it’s also a time of sadness as the show comes to a close after a long decade. With the eleventh season to be the last, the faces that have provided us with laughs over the years will soon disappear from our screens. Though the characters and favorite scenes will last forever, we’re sure people will call for more content in the future just as we’ve seen with other household favorites.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that rumors have been flying around regarding the names appearing in this final season. So far, it has been confirmed that Elizabeth Banks, Jordan Peele, and Edward Norton will all have small roles.

Just recently, ABC Entertainment President, Karey Burke, noted how Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd, the show’s creators, had produced a ‘seminal and iconic’ comedy with Modern Family. Meanwhile, Ariel Winter has noted that, despite spending around half of her life on the show, an ending wasn’t what the cast wanted. In a fantastic interview on Ellen, she also addressed the fact that she spent one episode in the early days simply stuck in a cage.

Although expressing disappointment at the end, Winter also noted that ‘everyone is ready to do new things’. David Beckham…Courteney Cox…final season…is it possible to feel any more excited? We’re sure the brilliant writers will end the show in a great way, and we can’t wait to see it!
