When it comes to the fashion industry, there are thousands of designers all fighting for attention at what is perhaps the busiest time of year. As we come to the end of the New York Fashion Week, everybody is talking about the celebrities who are making an appearance. However, there’s one name on the lips of these celebrities and it’s Christian Cowan.
Celebrity
Fashion Guru
Back in 2016, Christian Cowan graduated from London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins and he has been in demand ever since. Based in New York, Cowan has worked with Naomi Campbell, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Cardi B, Kylie Jenner, and more. Now, he has said that ‘we dress so many celebrities all the time and I can’t keep track of it.’
According to
Cowan, the journey has been an exciting yet busy one. As the brand continues to
grow, he has noted the great feeling of developing relationships with the
stars. Just recently, Kacey Musgraves was seen wearing a Cowan dress while on
tour. With Cardi B, the relationship started well before her rise to stardom,
but Cowan continues to work with the performer today.
English-Born
Lower East Side Resident
After a
childhood in Cambridge, Cowan completed his foundation year at
Central Saint Martins. From here, he made the move across to the London College
of Fashion and earned a fashion design degree. While most wait until after
school to enter the world of work, Cowan began while still in school and
actually worked with Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus.
Now, still in
his early twenties, he lives in New York City and said that his plan was always
to move to the Big Apple. He said, ’I just loved what America represented in
the sense that anyone could come here and do what they want to do.’ Not only
did he present his fifth collection at the New York Fashion Week this year,
he’s also now closer to Los Angeles where many of his star clients reside.

As well as
working with celebrities in his day job, Cowan’s new collection attracted some
of the biggest names at the event including Jason Lewis, Michael Strahan, Erika
Jayne, Kehlani, and a handful of others. With these all in the front row, the
collection went down well and there were many comments on the risks that Cowan
tends to take with his work. For Jayne, ‘fashion is a place to showcase your
personality’.
Elsewhere, J.
Alexander noted how Cowan’s work was ‘simple, easy, young, fresh, exciting.’
Therefore, it’s fair to say that the NYFW has only strengthened Cowan’s appeal
for celebrities. In the coming months and years, we can’t wait to see which
other stars will be attracted to the Brit. Will he reach the level of fellow
Brits that have flown across the pond to work with the stars such as Vivienne
Westwood,
Victoria Beckham, Stella McCartney, and Alexander McQueen?
