When news broke of Chris Pratt’s split from Anna Faris in 2017, fans of the pair all over the world were devastated. However, it seems to have become the most amicable and friendly break-up of all time. Not only is Faris now in a relationship, Chris Pratt has married Katherine Schwarzenegger. Do we have a new power couple about to take over the celebrity world?
Romantic Wedding in Montecito, California
When you know, you know, and this is clearly how Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger feel about each other. Around a year after reports started to circulate about the pair, they tied the knot at the San Ysidro Ranch. Using two different tents at the ranch, the ceremony and reception went off without a hitch.
According to those close to the pair, it was a romantic occasion with guests including Rob Lowe, Pratt’s co-star on the hit show Parks and Recreation,and James Gunn, the director of the huge movie series Guardians of the Galaxy. In an intimate ceremony, surrounded by friends and family, the couple were wed and solidified their relationship.
A Whirlwind Relationship
While most reporters and celebrity gossip platforms were still getting over the Faris/Pratt split, both were seemingly moving on. In June 2018, early reports suggested that Pratt was enjoying the beginnings of a blossoming relationship. Two months later, they were all smiles in denim as they left a restaurant together.
Soon after, it was revealed that Pratt was introduced to the Schwarzeneggerfamily (not your average meeting of the father!). In fact, rumors suggest that Maria Shriver, author and former partner of Arnold Schwarzenegger, was the one who introduced the couple.
As time went on, more and more pictures of the pair made their way onto the internet and it seemed things were going well. However, even the most avid celebrity fans were surprised when the engagement was announced in January 2019. In an Instagram post, Pratt noted that he was ‘thrilled to be marrying’ Katherine.
Shortly after, the bride-to-be had an extravagant bridal shower with over 100 guests (including Oprah Winfrey). Although only making their red-carpet debut in April for Avengers: Endgame, they’re now married two months later, and it seems the couple couldn’t be happier.
Supportive Divorce
While most Hollywood couples can’t help but turn a relationship sour when it all goes wrong, Pratt and Faris have taught us all a lesson in how to be adults. With their six-year-old son as the focus of their attention, Faris openly congratulated her ex-husband after the engagement announcement and even sent a reminder that she was an ordained minister.
Back in April, Faris spoke about her two long-term relationships and the struggles of divorce. She isn’t ‘crazy’ about weddings so marrying her current boyfriend, Michael Barrett, isn’t exactly high on the list of priorities.
