Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni To Star In It End With Us Adaptation

The book It Ends With Us is a famous novel written by Colleen Hoover. Hoover has been responsible for penning a series of romance and young adult books that became famous among teenagers as well as book enthusiasts all over the world. Her most recent book, It Ends With Us, became very famous on TikTok thanks to the BookTok hashtag that popularized her work to the extent that it became a best-seller in January 2022. Now, a film based on Hoover’s novel is all set to begin filming soon.

The film’s leading actors will be Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. Blake is very well known for her roles in The Shallows, The Age Of Adaline, and The Sisterhood Of The Travelling Pants. She has given stellar performances in many films and is bound to deliver a great performance again, especially since she is also an executive producer of the film. Her co-actor Baldoni is famous for another well-received adaptation of Five Feet Apart and for starring in the hit TV show Jane The Virgin. Baldoni directed Five Feet Apart and is also directing, and executive producing this adaptation of It Ends With Us. Since the earlier adaptation was his debut, one could say Justin is well-versed in the genre and knows how to go about executing his vision.

About The Book

It Ends With Us is the telling of a story of a teenage girl named Lily who is looking to start her college life after moving and all the challenges that come with it. She meets Ryle, and the two begin developing a relationship which becomes complicated with time and events that take place throughout the novel. The book was first published on 2nd August 2016, and since then, a sequel titled It Starts With Us has also been published earlier last year in October 2022.

The book “follows a girl named Lily who has just moved and is ready to start her life after college. Lily then meets a guy named Ryle, and she falls for him. As she is developing feelings for Ryle, Atlas, her first love, reappears and challenges the relationship between Lily and Ryle.”

Author Colleen Hoover opened up about her writing process when describing the book as “the hardest book I’ve ever written”. 

In Conclusion

Baldoni has been interested in the book since the year 2019. He has been looking to film an adaptation of it by working very closely with the author herself, who is guiding the whole process and also executive producing the film. Baldoni is working with the banner of Wayfarer studios along with Saks Picture Company producing the film.

Christy Hall, whose last work was the adaptation of a mini-comic series on Netflix called I Am Not Okay With This, is helming the script writing for this film. The cast and crew are all looking forward to doing justice to the original plot of the story by working together with the author and making sure everyone is involved in the process.
