Beyoncé Drops ‘Spirit’, a Single off the Album “The Lion King: The Gift”

It is no news that Beyoncé is the voice of Nala in Disney’s remake of its interesting and popular animated movie “The Lion King”, which was originally released in 1994. This remake is a photorealistic one, and has voiceovers from stars. However, it may interest you to know that Beyoncé is doing much more than voicing as Nala, she has something in store for the Beyhive all around the world, as she is playing the role of the executive producer for the album “The Lion King: The Gift”, which a press release termed as the classical story’s musical ode.

New Album and Teaser

We all know how talented Beyoncé is and whenever she gets involved in anything at all, she turns it to gold! According to US Magazine, Beyoncé is going all the way in with this album, as she has taken the initiative of getting some of her favorite artists involved in the project, as well as notable African artists to add some rich African flavor to some of the songs on the album.

Beyoncé who is 37 years old, and has gone home with the Grammy awards 23 times, also recorded a song for the album, and the song which is titled “Spirit” was released on July 10, 2019, while the whole album will be released on July 19, 2019. According to a teaser released by Disney, it may also interest you to know that Beyoncé will also be doing the popular “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” in the movie.

While delivering the press release, Beyoncé said the storytelling was a new experience for her, and she wanted to go beyond just getting songs that got their inspirations from the film, hence, she has ensures that its entirety is a combination of collaborations and genres, and furthermore, she said the sounds are influenced by genres that include Hip-Hop, R&B, Afro Beat, Pop, etc. She added that she wanted everyone watching the movie and listening to the songs to experience the storytelling differently, and thus enhance their experience on the journey through the storytelling, and in order to achieve that, the musicals did not only get the experience and inputs of talented and interesting artistes, but also got production inputs from some of the best African producers. Beyoncé wants listeners to enjoy authenticity at its best, and thus has ensured that only the best of everything was involved in the production.

Anticipation is Building

At the moment everyone is anticipating the movie and the album, and we can imagine the reactions of Disney fans, Lion King Fans, and the Beyhive as the masterpiece gets released. Beyoncé always has some amazing tricks up her sleeves, and there are indications that we should expect nothing but the best from the “The Lion King: The Gift” album. Some of the voices in the movie include Donald Glover, James Earl Jones, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Seth Rogen, Michael Key, Billy Eichner, John Oliver, John Kani, Eric Andre, etc. We can do nothing but anxiously anticipate, because believe we are in for a pleasant experience with the movie, and the album.
