Behind-the-Scenes Look at New Rambo Movie

In 2019, it’s all about returning movies and popular franchises. So far, we’ve been able to enjoy Captain Marvel andAvengers: Endgame as additions to a franchiseWe also have the live-action versions of Aladdin and Lion King, a return to Toy Story, and even more installments from ITFrozen, and Star Wars. However, for some, it’s all about the return of a certain John Rambo.

Rambo: Last Blood

Back in 1982, a young Sylvester Stallone stepped into the role of John Rambo for the first time. In the 37 years since, three more films have followed, and everything will come to an end this year as Last Blood is released in September.

For fans of the franchise, it has been an exciting time. There’s been no shortage of teasers and information releases, and now it’s Stallone himself teasing some of the story on Instagram. On Tuesday, he posted a video from the set of the new film. In what looked like an underground tunnel, one of the crew puts on Stallone’s watch before he travels through the tunnel conversing with the director and other crew members.

For those who missed it, this follows the official teaser trailer (one that looked even more violent than normal!). He captioned the Instagram post with ‘This is definitely not a trip down honeymoon lane. WELCOME to Rambo’s neighborhood’.

The Excitement Builds

Stallone has been very active on social media recently and he has shared a number of behind-the-scenes clips over the past couple of months. In them, there has been teasers about Rambo’s adopted family, machine guns, weapon-making, and more. As a result, the appetite for movie-goers is only getting stronger for the final movie in the series.

Stallone, 73 next month, will star as John Rambo while being supported by Oscar Jaenada, Jessica Madsen, Pas Vega, Marco de la O, Joaquin Cosio, and Sergio Peris-Mencheta. After searching for her long-lost father, a girl working on the Rambo family farm, Gabriella, is kidnapped by cartels in Mexico. Rambo hears the news and immediately jumps into action.

In terms of the movie itself, there are many suggestions that this one will be more serious and perhaps even more somber than the four films that have gone before it. In fact, some have compared this final Rambo film to Hugh Jackman’s final film as Wolverine. Though somewhat reluctantly, he’s forced into action one last time.

September Release

We’ll be able to see Rambo: Last Blood in theaters across the country on September 20, 2019. Considering the previous four films have combined for over $1 billion in box office revenues, we’re sure this fifth film will perform just as well as fans around the world clamber to say goodbye to the iconic character.

Of course, this isn’t the only iconic figure for which Sylvester Stallone is responsible after audiences fell in love with the six Rocky films. Stallone has certainly earned his ‘legendary’ status in Hollywood and the new Rambo film will only cement this (regardless of how it is received!).
