After the split of Brad and Angelina, and then Chris Pratt and Anna Faris, and then Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk, the whole celebrity world is on edge. Therefore, when ‘news’ broke of a rift between Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, it seemed as though the celebrity world just wasn’t a place for nice couples. However, we can all breathe a sigh of relief because the news is completely false.

Normally, at Celeb Network, we’re the ones discussing celebrity gossip, but we will never do so when there are no facts to support our content. Apparently, In Touch Weekly didn’t get this memo and they even made up quotes and stories for the potential break up.

Positive Reception by All

In a clip that has now gone viral, Kutcher and Kunis appear to be sitting in a car as they have a sarcastic conversation about the article. Kunis jokingly says (while reading from the article on her phone), ‘I felt suffocated. To this, Kutcher replies, ‘I was so overbearing, wasn’t I?’

‘I felt suffocated. To this, Kutcher replies, ‘I was so overbearing, wasn’t I?’

At a time where the practices of members of the media are being questioned more than ever, this reaction from the former That 70s Show stars is a brilliant one. If only more celebrities reacted in this way, maybe the very best and reliable services would rise to the top (like our own!).

Other False Claims with Celebrities

As well as support from fans, the Instagram video has also received great comments from fellow stars. This includes, Demi Lovato, Dax Shepard, and JJ Watt. For Watt, he had fans in stitches by simply saying, ‘It was the moustache for sure’.

Sadly, we’re in a golden era of so-called ‘fake news’ since it’s so easy to disseminate content. Regardless of who wrote it and where the information for the story even came from, it only takes a few shares online and suddenly the whole thing snowballs. It seems as though celebrities are having to step out every week to deny claims and stories about themselves.

Even with stories that are small and seem insignificant, they can have real implications (especially when the stories spin vicious lies about what one celeb has supposedly said about another). For example, Sly Stallone never used the words ‘closet homosexual’ in reference to former president Obama, Kevin Bacon isn’t an avid Trump supporter, and Paul McCartney, Avril Lavigne, and Jackie Chan are all still alive.

The Future of News

As mentioned previously, we work hard to bring reliable and factual stories to our lovely readers. Thanks to those who don’t quite follow the same practices, the world is becoming a dangerous place for celebrities. As well as defending themselves, they’re forced into deleting social media accounts and taking other drastic actions.

From us all at Celeb Network, well done to Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher who dealt with this in the right way. The more we ridicule silly stories, the less likely they will appear (let’s face it, In Touch Weekly isn’t going to sell many magazines for the foreseeable future!).
