Angelina Jolie, 44, in a candid interview with Harper Magazine revealed how her life has been since after divorce with her ex-husband Brad Pitt.

The couple were enmeshed in a bitter public divorce proceeding in 2016. However, it appears the once power couple of Hollywood are now in a good place. The actress and her ex share co-parenting duties of their six children.

Jolie who covers the December 2019/January 2020 issue of Harper’s BAZAAR shares her dreams to explore, travel, her aspirations, and what she’s looking forward to in the coming year.

The ‘Maleficent’ star revealed she wanted to travel overseas but can’t at the moment as she has to live where her kids’ dad is based.

“I would love to live abroad and will dos so as soon as my children are 18. Right now, I’m having to base where their father chooses to live.”

The thing is, Jolie and Pitt have joint custody of their children. This according to the actress has limited her choice of where to live, as she has to live where Pitt can have easy access to the kids.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has six children. Shiloh, 13, and 11-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne who are their biological children. While they adopted Maddox 18, Pax, 15, and Zahara, 14.

It was reported that Jolie filed for sole custody of the youngest children, but the court ruled a joint visitation rights to both parents.

While fielding questions about the impact of the separation on the kids, the star actress replied:

“My children know my true self and they have helped me to find it again and embrace it. They have been through a lot.

“I learn from their strengths. As parents, we encourage our kids to embrace all that they are and all they know in their hearts to be right, and they look back at us and want the same for us.”

She also muted that the past years have taken a toil on her body. “My body has been through a lot over the past decade,” she said. “Particularly the past four years and I have both the visible and invisible scars to show for it.”

“The invisible ones are harder to wrestle with,” she further revealed. “Life takes many turns. Sometimes you get hurt, you see those you love in pain, and you can’t be as free and open as your spirit desires. It’s not new or old, but I do feel the blood returning to my body.”

In what appeared to be sly dig at her ex, she said, “The part of us that is free, wild, open, curious can get shut down for life. By pain or by harm.”

However, the star was upbeat about the coming year. “My dream for everyone in 2020 is to remember who they are and to be who they are regardless of what might be disrupting their ability to be free.

“If you feel you are not living your life fully, try to identify what it is or who it is that is blocking you from breathing. Identify and fight past whatever is oppressing you.”
