Alison Hammond posted a stunning selfie earlier this week which actually shocked her fans to the extent that they thought it was a picture of Beyonce. She documented her weight loss journey on social media over the last 12 weeks, ensuring her followers were with her each step of the way. If her Instagram profile is anything to go by, she deserves the praise for the massive amount of weight she has lost. Alison, 44, is a single mum who has a 13-year-old son and has worked in TV for 17 years. She admits that her busy lifestyle prevented her from paying adequate attention to her weight in the past and doing something about it. She weighed 20 stone, which was very unhealthy and left her feeling embarrassed.
The key to weight loss is dieting and exercise
According to her, the main point of sharing her weight loss journey is to encourage others to believe they can be better versions of themselves and can actually make effective changes to their lifestyles. This Morning Star Alison became a Weight Watchers ambassador when she came in weighing 20 stone. She used her social media to document how she completely changed her diet and started implementing exercise into her routine. For her diet, she cut out unhealthy snacks and replaced them with enough fruits and vegetables. This may sound boring and difficult to maintain, but the TV personality is also great in the kitchen, so she makes various low-calorie stir fries to spice up her diet. Plus, she throws in the occasional treat as she even shared a funny video of her eating chocolate cake.
My WW journey is focused on getting healthier for myself. I feel rubbish when I don’t eat properly, or exercise and WW helps me with what I eat and do. WW is the only program that works for me, with the Online Coach there for support whenever you need it, 24 hours a day.
Stay away from fast weight loss schemes
This goes to show that you can take on a realistic diet and exercise routine to lose weight. It doesn’t always have to involve starvation, slim teas, tablets, or injections. The negative effects of such weight loss schemes are that your body does not get to properly adjust to the sudden weight loss. Hence, you may end up with countless stretchmarks or flabby skin all around. The best way to lose weight, as Alison has proven is to follow a healthy diet and exercise regularly. This also involves commitment because she was consistent with these strategies for weeks without fail.
Make out time to exercise
As she is still a busy woman, with her TV commitments taking her around the world interviewing celebrities and filming competitions, she doesn’t always have time to go to the gym. To make up for this, she does cardio walks and has even once done a 5k walk. Regarding her ambassadorship as a Weight Watcher (WW), the presenter said, “My WW journey is focused on getting healthier for myself. I feel rubbish when I don’t eat properly, or exercise and WW helps me with what I eat and do. WW is the only program that works for me, with the Online Coach there for support whenever you need it, 24 hours a day.”
Alison’s weight loss journey made it evident that no matter what you weigh or how you feel about it, you alone have the power to change what you look like with the right mindset and commitment.
