It was Lady Gaga that said, the world doesn’t need any more makeup lines. Then she went and released hers. Ironic, right?
Well, the thing is, Lady Gaga’s Haus Laboratories– that’s the name of her beauty company – have been long in the making. It’s over two years she first announced she’d consider venturing into the skin care beauty line.
But, according to the OSCAR winner, the seed and love for makeup were planted way before, when she was still a young girl watching her mom wear her makeup every morning.
“I’ve always been really close to my mom. When I was a little girl, I was just fascinated with her morning beauty ritual. I would wake up, and I would see her getting ready for work. She would apply her foundation, her lipstick, her mascara. She would look so, so beautiful, and so strong. She just had such bravery about her, and it was so inspiring to me. I grew up with this understanding that you could be brave in many different ways, and one of those ways is makeups.“
On July 9, the singer took to her Instagram to post the first look of her Haus Laboratories cosmetic collection. In the video, we can see a diverse cast of models kitted and primed in killer makeup looks.
Then July 11, Haus Laboratories sent out a press release that outlines their mission’ Their goal is to provide people with the tools to love themselves, spread kindness, and express themselves creatively.
And they hope to achieve this by making their cosmetics range available to everyone; that’s why they’d be launching exclusively on Amazon and their brand website.
Though you can preorder for any of the collection starting from July 15, however, you’d have to wait till September to get it delivered to you when the product launches officially.
Gaga, on Thursday, peeled back the curtain to what’s been working on – three high-impact, high-pigment formulas – RIP Lip Liner, named RIP because according to her “it’s a lip liner anyone can die for” Le Riot Lip Gloss, and an incredibly looking liquid-to-powder shimmer she called Glam Attack. As an extra, each comes in a reusable clutch.
Besides, for the vegan and animal-lovers, the products are vegan and cruelty-free; plus, they are available in six shades.
“Just like my music, I wanted everyone to have access to it,” she said in an interview with Allure. That’s why we’re releasing the beauty line on Amazon and our website.
“At Haus Laboratories, we want you to see yourself. When you look in that mirror, we want you to go: ‘That’s the you that I love. I’m in love with that person.’ I don’t want people to feel like they have to look like me.”
She co-created all the products with her Makeup artist and brand’s Global Artistry Director, Sarah Tanmo.
Each collection contains a three-set piece and will go for £39 when they finally go on sale.
You can also get a limited edition of the duo sets of the lip liners for £21, duo sets of the lip glosses for £26, and duo sets of the shimmer powders for £29.
