5 Action-Packed Must-See Movies in 2020

The new year is here, and the cinemas are set to roll out some great movies for movie buffs. Fans of Marvel’s Avenger superhero squad may need to take a rest this year, but the movies in 2020 won’t make anyone miss the Avengers in any way.

For instance, Daniel Craig is back for one last run as the tuxedoed superspy James Bond 007 in ‘No Time to Die’ set for release on April 10. Expect ‘Godzilla vs Kong’ on November 20 along with ‘Birds of Prey’ on February 7.

And oh, Marvel fans shouldn’t be too disappointed as Scarlett Johansson stars (finally) in her own solo movie in Marvel’s Black Widow.

It appears 2020 is the year of the A-listers like Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Angelina Jolie, Gal Gadot and a host of other stars hit the screens big time.

Here are 5 movies we cannot wait to see in 2020:

Bad Boys for Life

Odd Miami cop couple Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) and Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) return to take down a vindictive villain. Lowrey still wants to take down bad guys, but Burnett is seriously contemplating retirement. This, however, does not stop them from going on one last mission.

This movie comes almost 25 years after movie enthusiasts first met the tough-talking detectives. So, yes, they have aged gracefully, but that was taken into consideration in the movie as well.

‘Bad Boys for Life’ hits theaters January 17.

No Time to Die

Daniel Craig returns in his fifth – and final – movie as the iconic James Bond, British superspy. The last time we saw him, Bond drove away from MI6 in a classic Aston Martin at the end of 2015’s ‘Spectre.’

Bond hopes to retire, but his American friend from the CIA, Felix Leiter, draws him back into the action of the spy business. And wait a minute; it appears Bond has an ambitious and athletically precise young woman who dons the double-o status as well, named Naomi.

James Bond fans will be thrilled at the rivalry that burns between these two as they move to tackle the newest bond villain, Safin. Get ready for the usual; high-speed car chases, gunfights, and stunning bike stunts. James Bond is back, and you will never be disappointed.

‘No Time to Die’ comes your way April 10.

Black Widow

Okay, don’t get confused: this movie was set before the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and right after ‘Captain America: Civil War.’ This action film from the Marvel universe stars Scarlett Johansson as the ex-assassin Natasha Romanoff who has a checkered past. She reconnects with two other Black Widows and engages in several thrilling action sequences.

Natasha Romanoff has no specific set of powers, unlike her ‘Avengers’ counterparts. However, she packs a lot of toughness in her as it will be seen in ‘Black Widow,’ release date May 1.

Wonder Woman 1984

‘Wonder Woman 1984’ is a follow-up of the 2017 blockbuster that was set in World War I. This was where Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) was introduced to the world. But in ‘1984,’ the heroine knows the world well. Or maybe not so well as what happens in the movie surprises even her.

This is not a movie you must miss when it hits the cinemas June 5.

Top Gun: Maverick

Tom Cruise is back as Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell who trains a new generation of overly-confident upstarts. Despite being away from the big screen for almost 34 years, the fighter pilot still retains his anti-authority persona that thrills both old-timers and the younger generation alike.

This is the role that pushed Cruise to international limelight or superstardom, and you can bet your last dollar that this movie is going to be lit.

Check out ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ in theaters June 26.
